Look Fantastic Beauty Box - Bobbi Brown Special

It's quite a long time since I bought a beauty box.  I used to have the subscriptions all the time but gradually cancelled them because I became overrun with mini travel sized products that I wasn't using.  Recently though, whilst perusing the Look Fantastic website (which is literally my favourite place to shop online for beauty products) I saw that they still did their beauty boxes (though they look bigger than they used to) and one caught my eye.  It was the Bobbi Brown special.

Now I don't own a lot of Bobbi Brown products, I don't know why.  It's not that I have never used them, I have - one of my favourite ever eye shadow palettes was a BB one, I also used the Shimmer Brick right down the pan a few years ago.  But I don't have any lipsticks, any mascara or any skin products.  This box seemed a good way to try some of her goodies and better still, I knew there would be a Vitamin Enriched Facebase in the box, something I had read about and wanted to get for ages.

What's in my Bobbi Brown Box?

Well, it seems that Look Fantastic have got a variety of products to put in the box but you get 5, you don't know which ones you're going to get until you open the box so the element of surprise is still there.

Vitamin Enriched Facebase

I was SO happy this was in there.  I had read a lot about it and I use the Lisa Armstrong for Avon moisturising primer which they (whoever they are) say was based on the BB Facebase.  Lisa Armstrong for Avon is now discontinued sadly so no more of her lemon smelling moisturising primer for me once I run out of my stock!  So I was interested to see if this really was what LA based her product on.

It's a 15ml pot and I must say it does smell like it's packed full of Vitamin C and all sorts of other gorgeous ingredients.  It's also not a sloppy cream, it's almost a balm that just sinks in when you put it on your face. I've only tried it once or twice and both times was happy with it as a primer.  I'm not sure if it's rich enough to be a moisturiser for me as well, I think I probably need at least a serum on before I put this on but it is very very nice, I am happy with it.

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder - Pink Glow

This is a full size product, the BB Highlighting Powder in Pink Glow.  Very pretty and very luxurious and very summery as well, I really can't wait to use it.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss - In The Buff

Now I'm not normally a fan of glosses I find them sticky so the jury is out on this until I've tried it.  It's a pretty colour though and definitely one of my colours, I would choose this colour in a lipstick for example.  I'll report back!

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks - Powder Pink

Now I have tested this and it is lovely, I will definitely be using this at least on my cheeks.  I'm really into my cream blushes at the moment as they are really flattering when you want a more natural look and so easy to put on in a hurry.  I've been trying some 'no make up make up' looks, and cream blushes are a must for that 'flushed' look.  Very happy to have the BB Powder Pink now in my collection that's for sure.

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm

This is a little tester size tube of the Illuminating Moisture Balm, 5ml.  It's apparently got pearl particles in it and you can either wear it alone or add it to make up on your cheeks OR add it to foundation so it seems to be a fairly versatile product!  I'll report back on this one, perhaps when I make the video for it, I should have tried it by then.

I'll be doing a review video of the product and will pop the link on the blog when I've done it so keep an eye out for that if you want to find out what I really thought of all these products once I've tried them.
